Katelyn Rose Hale
(July 20, 1998 - October 1, 2011)
Katelyn Rose Hale passed away during a tragic car accident on October 1, 2011, at the young age of 13. She was born July 20, 1998 in Las Cruces, New Mexico, to Stephen and Celestial Hale. She moved with her family to Pinetop-Lakeside in 2007.
Katelyn was full of life and spread kindness to everyone around her. She was in the eighth grade, attending Blue Ridge Jr. High School, where she was President of the Science Club, Secretary of the Orchestra Club, and in the Spanish Club. Katelyn was very active and loved singing, playing the piano and violin, riding her bicycle, dancing, volleyball, and baking goodies for others.
Katelyn was a peacemaker, and especially loved her family. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Woodland Lake Ward, where she received the Young Womanhood Recognition award, and was President of her Beehive class. She read the scriptures daily with her family, and lived by the motto of C.T.R. (choose the right).
Katelyn was deeply loved, and will truly be missed by her family, friends, and anyone who knew her. She is survived by her four siblings: Ashley (19), Lindsey (17), Nathan (15), and Brooklyn Hale(3); her parents, Stephen and Celestial Hale; and grandparents, Stephen and Melodee Hale, of Mesa, AZ; and Don and Ann Black, of Queen Creek, AZ.
Memorial Services for Katelyn will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Pinetop-Lakeside Stake Center, 1500 Church Lane.
