PAYNE, Shannon

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Payne, Shannon Timothy, 46, of Chandler, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 14 after a valiant struggle with breast cancer. Shannon was born on January 19, 1963 in Provo, Utah. She has lived in Arizona since age one. She is survived by her daughter Shasta, son Michael, her parents Paul Wayne and Diane Tenney Timothy, and her siblings; Marci, Darren (Rebecca), Monica (Todd) Finney, and Erin (Jason) Botz. She will also be missed by many other relatives and close friends. Shannon graduated from Camelback High School in 1981 and attended Phoenix College. She worked for WinCup for 23 years as a Customer Service Representative. In her job, she worked with people from all over the country, who became her friends, and who also mourn her loss. Shannon was active in drama during her high school years and that interest has continued. One of her favorite activities was attending plays with her daughter Shasta. She also enjoyed watching Nascar and football with her son Mike. Shannon had a passion for traveling, and visited many states and countries. She was fond of the family cats and dogs. Shannon was devoted to her large extended family, and looked forward to family reunions. She loved children, and especially enjoyed spending time with her many nieces and nephews.
