The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 10/07/2011 Mary Ann Stroud Watkins, 68, a resident of Springerville, died Oct. 2, 2011, at Tall Pine Care Center in Show Low. Mary was born July 25, 1943, in Quemado, N.M. the daughter of William and Hazel Stroud. Mary was a homemaker and a secretary; working alongside her husband Thomas Watkins in building their business, Springerville Auto Wreckers. Her family and kids meant all to her; she will be greatly missed. She is survived by sons: Ronald (Deborah) Watkins, Alan (Doni) Watkins, and Larry Watkins, all of Springerville; daughter Peggy (Phillip) Reed of Springerville; brothers: Clinton (Pat) Stroud, Delta, Colorado, and Kenneth (Janet) Stroud of Paonia, Colo.; sister Jody (Jerry) Monterith of Nutrioso; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Watkins, and parents, William (Bill) and Hazel Stroud. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, at Burnham Mortuary, Eagar.
