Pioneer Resident Buried Yesterday
B.F. Major, pioneer resident, who died in Phoenix Saturday, was buried in the Citizens Cemetery yesterday morning after funeral services were conducted at Ruffner's chapel at 10 o'clock. Mr. Major came to Prescott in 1881, coming west from Ohio. He was born in Wooster, Ohio, in 1859. He made his home in Groom Creek for many years and at the time of his death, he lived in the Verde Valley.
He is survived by a widow and eight children, three of whom live in Prescott, B.F. Major, Jr; Mrs W. A. Allen and Harry Major; Mrs. Lee Boren of Phoenix, Charles and Paul Major of Aultman, and by two brothers and two sisters living in Ohio.
(His child were Benjamin Franklin Jr., Younda Gertrude, Kathryn M., Irving David ( killed in World War 1) , Ruth Orpha, Grace Mable , Harry Ike Major, Charles Norman,and Paul Edward.)
