DUPART, Andre

Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona March 14, 1968 Two More Added to Road Toll A man and his wife from Marseilles, France, en route with their three children to San Francisco to make their home, died instantly in a 3-vehicle collision on Highway 71, between Aguila and Congress last Saturday afternoon. Their deaths brought to five the number killed on highways in the Wickenburg Highway Patrol area, including the Town of Wickenburg, since January 1. Dead in the crash were Andre Dupart, age 48, and his wife Simone, two years younger. Brought to Community Hospital here were the 21-year-old daughter Anneick, 14 year-old-son, Yves and 10-year old Frank. The daughter and Frank were admitted; Yves was treated for minor injuries. None of these three children can speak English. A representative of the French consulate came to Wickenburg to serve as an interpreter and assist the hospital and the highway patrol. The accident happened in Yavapai County and the bodies of Mr. & Mrs. Dupart were taken to Prescott. The other two vehicles involved in the collision were trucks, one a tanker containing sulphuric acid. The tank was ruptured and the acid began spilling out on the highway. There was considerable delay before the dead and injured could be reached. The patrol found it necessary to chose off Highway 71 for more than six hours. The SUN learned that the Duparts landed in the United States February 13 and brought a new Pontiac for their ill-fated cross country trip to San Francisco.
