Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona July 11, 1968 June H. Olea The community’s sympathies are extended to Mrs. Art (Pat) Rogers and Dora Olea in the death of their mother, Mrs. June H. Olea, a 77-year resident of Arizona and pioneer school teacher, who died July 3 at the age of 77. She was the widow of the late Ysidro F. Olea, who ranched for many years in the Signal area northwest of Wickenburg. Following mass at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday of this week in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Phoenix, burial took place in the cemetery at Signal. Born in San Francisco, Mrs. Olea was brought to Arizona when only six months of age. She was an early-day graduate of Tempe Normal School, now Arizona State University and taught in St. Johns, in the old Central School in Phoenix and at Signal from 1919 to 1944. She was a member of the Mohave County Pioneers Daughter, the Arizona Pioneers Historical Society and the Arizona Cattle Growers Association. Four other daughters also survive; Mrs. H.E. Clements and Mrs. W. K. Crough, Phoenix; Mrs. W.W. Kemp, congress, and Mrs. Al Wood, Tucson, also three sons, Frank of Phoenix, Gordon of Kingman and Robert of Sunland, Calif. A sister, Charlotte Olea of Phoenix, 25 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
