Joffre Kiamy
Friends here were saddened to learn of the sudden death from a heart attack July 22 of Joffre M (Joe) Kiamy, former Wickenburg businessman and son-in-law of Mrs. Velma Lane of this city.
Mrs. Kiamy suffered the attack at the Cimbers Restaurant in Phoenix, which he owned.
Mass was recited at 9 a.m. July 25 in the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle and entombment followed in St. Francis Mausoleum.
In the early 1940’s Mr. Kiamy established a shoe store of that name in the Center Street building adjoining the Hassayampa Barber Shop, selling it later to the late William T. Petersen and Mrs. Petersen who changed the name to Petersen’s. Before entering the restaurant business in 1966, Mr. Kiamy was in the retail shoe business in Phoenix for 20 years.
He was a nationally known bridge player and was prominent in working with boys through the Phoenix Boys’ Club.
He is survived by his wife, the former Jane Lane and a brother Sam of Phoenix.
