The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ November 11, 1949 LEWIS POWELL DIES AT LOCAL HOSPITAL Lewis Cunningham Powell, 47, died at the Community Hospital here on Friday, November 4, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Ruth M. Powell, an employee of Ted’s Café. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Wickenburg Chapel, with the Rev. Charles A. Surber, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial was in Wickenburg Cemetery. Other survivors are a sister, Cecil and two brothers, Frank and Ed, all of Memphis, Tenn. Mr. Powell, who was a stationary engineer and Greyhound bus driver in Memphis, came to Arizona in 1941, locating in Globe. Three years ago he moved here.
