West Valley View, Avondale, AZ April 16, 2010 Dorothy L. Chisum, 81, of Avondale died April 14, 2010. She was born Nov. 7, 1928, in Pauls Valley, Okla., to Cecil and Mina Perkins. In 1931, she and her family moved to Avondale, when it was called Coldwater. She attended Tolleson High School. She retired as a manager for the Salvation Army. She is survived by one daughter, Carol Denise Cozad; one son, James C.; five brothers, Edward Perkins, Jess Perkins, Willie Ray Perkins, Butch Perkins and Larry Brooks; one sister, Barbara Miller; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. April 19 at Thompson's Valley West Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road in Goodyear. Services will begin at 11.
