GROOVER, Cora E. (Corky)

Susquehanna County Independent (Montrose PA) Friday, September 16, 2011 Cora E. "Corky" Groover, 83, of Montrose, PA, passed away on September 8, 2011, at her home after an extended illness. She was born in Bridgewater Twp, to the late Earl and Florence Viola (Weiss) Blaisure. Her husband of 60 years, Harold "Gooch" Groover and four sisters, predeceased her. Surviving are her two sons and daughter-in-law Harold C Groover III, Montrose, and Dale and Gerri Groover, Black Canyon, Ariz; six grandsons; one granddaughter; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; two special nieces and their husbands, Laura and Jerry Shepherd, Joy and Frank Harry; and special friends, Tom and Nancy Brand. Corky liked to bowl, sew and do jigsaw puzzles. A Funeral Service was held at 11am Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at the Daniel K Regan Funeral Home, with Rev Jane M Pykus, of the South Montrose Community Church, officiating. Interment was held in the Fairdale Cemetery. Friends called on the family two hours prior to the service. The family would like to thank Tom and Nancy Brand for their assistance in Corky's care over the years. They would also like to thank Trehab and Dona Grillo, from Area on Aging, for all their assistance.
