West Valley View, Avondale, AZ April 23, 2010 Maria Luisa C. Ruiz, 88, of Tolleson died April 19, 2010. Mrs. Ruiz was born Nov. 9, 1921, in Tolleson. She married her husband in 1944, and they were owners of Jimmy's Market in Tolleson from 1950 to 1965. She was an original parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She retired from the Tolleson Elementary School District in 1987, where she worked in the cafeteria. She was preceded in death by her husband, Santiago "Jimmy" M. Ruiz. She is survived by five sons, Jimmy, Ralph, George, Alex and Henry; one brother, Rudy Chavira; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Visitation was Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Tolleson. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Blessed Sacrament, with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 10045 W.
