Mildred Edythe "Boyd" Anderson died July 31, 2011, peacefully at her home with her family by her side of cancer.
She was born Aug. 14, 1920, in Lewisville, Texas to Jally Boyd and Mary Lucy "Fugitt" Boyd. She married Claude F. Anderson in in 1942 and they were married 57 years, until he passed away in 2002. Edythe served in the U.S. Army W.A.A.C., in WW II. She was also a member of the International Eastern Star Temple since 1965, and the American Legion Post #86 since 1980, and Morningside Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Robert L. Anderson of Yuma; three grandchildren: Erica "Anderson" Jones of Overgaard, Aaron Anderson and Elizabeth Anderson, both from Yuma; and four great-grandchildren of Yuma.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and a son Harold F. Anderson (2006).
Graveside services are being held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at at the Heber Cemetery in Heber/Overgaard.
Silver Creek Mortuary handled arrangements.
