Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Tuesday, October 11, 2011 - Albert Louis “Al” Bartlett May 29, 1948 — Oct. 8, 2011 Albert passed away from a tragic accident while working at his home Oct. 8, in Oracle, Ariz. He was born to Jerrell and Barbara Bartlett in Searcy, Ark., May 29, 1948. Al graduated from Sparks High in 1967, enlisted in the U.S. Army and married the love of his life, Cathy A. McKay, April 7, 1968. He served in the military until 1971, when he was honorably discharged and joined his family in Lake Havasu City. After his discharge from the Army, Al went on to own his own businesses, including an auto mechanic shop and one of the first tour bus operations. He also worked as a farrier and a long haul truck driver. Al loved water sports, racing off-road, was a horse enthusiast and most of all, loved doing it all with his wife, children and grandchildren. Al leaves behind his beloved family, wife, Cathy; sons, Duane and Eric; daughters, Angela and Deborah; father and mother, Jerrell and Barbara Bartlett; sister, Beverly, and brother-in-law Tom Hinsley; grandchildren, Tyler, Amanda, Teresa and McKenzie; sister-in-law, Sue Mesler; brothers–in-law, Mike McKay and Jim McKay; mother-in-law, Pat McKay; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A viewing will be at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be Saturday, 3 p.m. at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. A celebration of Al’s life will follow at Shugrue’s at 4:30 p.m. Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com.
