Gerald F. “Jere” Hoyt, 68, passed away Oct. 9, 2011 in Lake Havasu City. He was born Dec. 16, 1942, in Winchester, Mass., to Carl and Dorothy Hoyt.
Jere, as he was known to his family and friends, served his country in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged. He was a retired Reading, Mass., police lieutenant. He and his wife, Betsey, moved to Lake Havasu City in 1989. He was a member of Drury Lane Repertory Players and served as lighting director and acted in numerous productions with other members of the Hoyt clan. “To the world you may just be one person, but to one person you may be the world. Once you choose hope, anything’s possible.” Jere will be deeply missed and always loved.
Jere is survived by his beloved wife, Betsey Hoyt; children, Jennifer, Kathryn, James and Michelle Hoyt, all of Lake Havasu City; granddaughters, Tori Beth Gambill and Cierra Nicole Lowder, both of California. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Bonnie Hoyt.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, at Lake Havasu Mortuary Chapel.
