Vining Funeral Home Safford, Arizona Iva Carpenter Clouse July 18, 1927 ~ October 13, 2011 Iva Carpenter Clouse was born on July 18, 1927 in Thatcher, Graham County, Arizona to Lester and Elizabeth Fuller Carpenter. She spent her childhood in Eden and Ashurst, Arizona moving to Mesa, Arizona her senior year of High School. Iva passed away October 13, 2011 at the home of her son Randy in Highland, Utah County, Utah. Iva married Sterling William Clouse September 5, 1949 in the Mesa Arizona Temple. To this union they were blessed with five sons. Sterling Keith (Margo) Clouse of Mesa, Arizona, Randal Karl (Janice) Clouse of Highland Utah, Terrill Garth (Charlene) Clouse of Gilbert, Arizona, Richard Lester (Shelly) Clouse of Mesa, Arizona and Don William (Sheri) Clouse of Kaysville, Utah. She raised her family in Safford, Arizona from 1954-1989. Then they moved to Mesa Arizona in their retirement years. Iva was a quiet, gentle, patient, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a special sense of wit and humor which she carried to her final moments of life. We will so miss her special one-liners that always kept us smiling. Mom’s greatest treasure and happiness was her family. Her house was filled with pictures of everyone. She knew each ones birthday and loved sending cards to us all. Mom was a woman of simple faith. She had an unshakable faith in the Savior Jesus Christ and in his restored Gospel. She served him faithfully for years in the Junior Sunday School, Relief Society President and faithfully supported her husband in his calls as Bishop, Scout Master and Stake callings. She is survived by her five Sons, 26 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren and more on the way. Also her siblings Alma Kent Carpenter of Mesa, Arizona, Mary Lou Smith of Mesa, Arizona and Bessie Richardson of Dillion, Montana. She was preceded in death by her husband Sterling William Clouse, her parents to Lester and Elizabeth Fuller Carpenter and siblings Lester Weston Carpenter, Nellie Mae Taylor and Rosalie Ann Carpenter. The family would like to thank those who gave her wonderful medical care Dr. Robert Slack and Dr. Melissa Gilbert of the Highland, Utah IHC Clinic. Also the loving care she received for IHC Hospice her last few days. Funeral Services will be held at the Old Lehi Church, 830 E. Lehi Road, Mesa, Arizona October 21, 2011 at 9:00am. A Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church. Graveside Services will follow at 2:00pm in the Virden Cemetery up Windham Canyon in Virden, New Mexico.
