The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 10/18/2011 Ardyth Lynn Potter, 51, former resident of Payson, died suddenly in Sept, 26, 2011 at Mannford, Okla. A family gathering celebration will be held at a later date. Ardyth Lynn was born April 17, 1960, in Smithville, Okla. to Harold Storie and Martha Jane (Warner) Storie. She was driven and focused, despite her plethora of health issues, even from a very young age. After completing a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Grand Canyon College in Phoenix, she completed two Master's Degrees from Northern Arizona University at Flagstaff in Education and Curriculum Development. She became a teacher of children with special needs and went on to achieve her principal and superintendent certification. She was assigned principal at a high-needs school in Payson, which under her leadership, became a high performing school in a single year, which was a testament to her tenacity and skills. Her son, Gregory Barnes, was the light of her life, along with her husband, Gregory Potter. As a nurse and loving husband, Greg faithfully tended to Ardyth's health and emotional needs, for which the family is truly grateful. In her spare time, Ardyth became a black belt in Tae Kwon Doe and pursued a variety of arts and crafts. Ardyth and Greg were in the process of moving to Creek County, Okla. from Payson when she passed. Viewing her last Oklahoma sunset, she proclaimed, "I am home'. She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Edward Storie; and her grandparents: Isaac (Ike) and Gona Warner, Ivan and Roxie Storie. She leaves behind her loving husband, Gregory Potter; son Gregory Barnes; parents Harold and Martha Jane Storie; sister Gayle Storie; niece Blair Storie-Johnson; and two aunts Ruthie Stipe and Emily Warner. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael's Funeral Home of Drumright, Okla. (918) 352-2312.
