BANUELOS, John R.


The Tucson Daily Citizen, Tucson, Arizona Saturday, March 10, 1945 Pfc. John R. Banuelos, 25, son of Mr. and Mrs. Antonio C. Banuelos of San Diego and formerly of Tucson, was killed in action in Germany Feb. 3. Wounded in France last September he had been awarded the Purple Heart, and had been hospitalized in England for three months before returning to duty in December. Private Banuelos was educated in Tucson schools and after graduation from Tucson High School was employed by the Tucson Laundry and Dry Cleaners. He moved to San Diego in 1941 and entered the Army in January 1944. Assigned to the infantry, he received his training at Camp Banning, Tex., and left for overseas last July. Surviving are his parents, two brothers, Marisano and Albert; four sisters, Pola, Aurora, Delores and Marie Banuelos.
