Kenneth C. Smith, age 83, of Globe, Ariz. passed away on Oct. 6, 2011.
He was born in New York City on Feb. 19, 1928, the son of George and Ive (Newton) Smith.
Kenneth came to Arizona at the age of two years old. He lived and graduated from high school in Tucson.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the Navy he moved to Globe where he worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 20 years. He then went to work as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for Inspiration Copper and Cyprus Miami Copper Mining. Kenneth was one who helped put the train engine at City Hall Park in Globe.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and just being outdoors. He was a lifetime member of the Pinal Mountain Elks.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lynn Smith; his son, Kenneth E. Smith; and his brother, George Smith; one grandchild, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be private.
