SPLANE, Ronald D.


Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, October 19, 2011 Ronald D. Splane, age 67, of Mesa, Ariz. passed away on Oct. 10, 2011. He was born Dec. 20, 1943, son of Fred O. and Katherine R. (Stamper) Splane. He came to the Globe-Miami area from Morenci. He went to school at various Miami area schools and Scottsdale Community College, where he earned his Associate degree in culinary arts. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961-64. He worked as a miner and chef and retired in April, 2006 after 40 years of work. He had a strong faith and “Let his little light shine” for all to see. He lived life to the fullest and touched countless lives with his humor, love and compassion. He loved cooking and all outdoor sports. He made life an adventure for all who knew him. He leaves a huge hole in the hearts and lives of many friends and family. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Fred O. and Katherine Splane; brothers, Freddie and Coy Splane; sisters, Sheila Powers and Marilyn Ford. He is survived by his wife, Norma Fountain Splane; and his son, Roger A. Splane. Services will be held on Oct. 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Word of Life Church, 1011 Like Oak St. in Miami, Ariz. with Rev. Loyd Lowder.
