Earl Leon Brookshire, 89, of Glendale died Sept. 14, 2011, at Hospice of the Valley.
Mr. Brookshire was born Dec. 3, 1921, in Phoenix. He played semi-professional softball.

He is survived by five daughters, Kathy Covey of Phoenix, Leanne Fowler of Phoenix, Melinda Brookshire of Oxnard Calif., Chris Roadlander of El Mirage and Stephanie Castillo of Goodyear; one son, Tim of Cottonwood; 25 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at the National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix.
