George Y. Johnson, 91, of Phoenix, bishop of the House of Prayer Church of God in Christ, died Dec. 23, 1996. He was born in Texas. Survivors include his wife, Doris; daughters, Ava Miller, Ella Slater Hennix and Nancy; sons, A. G., George, Jr., and Roy; step-daughters, Pamela White, Samenthia White, La Rita White, Evelyn Young and Dorothy Louise; stepsons, Sebon, Rudolph and Samuel White; sister Gladys Johnson; 50 grandchildren; 124 great-grandchildren and 61 great-great-grandchildren.
