He was born in Cleveland.  

Survivors include his wife, Hazel; son, Melvin; and brother, Frank Corton.  

Services Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997.  Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 1212 E. Glendale Ave., Phoenix.  Contributions:  Hospice of Arizona.  Hansen Mortuary.
