Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, October 26, 2011 Irene Cora Speer, age 86, of Globe, Ariz. passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Phoenix, Ariz. Irene was born on Oct. 14, 1925, the daughter of Everett Todd and Ellen Marie Conklin in Coffeyville, Kansas. Irene was a member of the Central Christian Church in Globe for 76 years where she taught Bible school and was a choir leader. She was president and teacher of the women’s group. She was an avid Diamondbacks and Suns fan. She enjoyed crocheting, quilt making, cooking and bowling. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Leta Jeanne Haught; one brother, Tommy Todd; and two grandchildren, Lance Speer and Tanya Speer. Irene leaves behind in loving memory her husband, Glenn N. “Ted” Speer of Globe, Ariz.; two sons, Larry Dean Speer (Barbara) of Globe, Ariz. and Dale Speer (Vicky) of Globe, Ariz.; two brothers, Everett Todd of Globe, Ariz. and Norman Ray Todd of Globe, Ariz.; one sister, Betty Garrels of Mesa, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Diane Holder, Paul Speer, Michelle Speer, Justin Speer, Brian Speer and Gwendoline Speer; and 12 great-grandchildren, Tiffany Holder, Tianna Holder, Tierra Holder, Riley Speer, Carson Speer, Megan Speer, Katrina Dale Nogare, Brody Dale Nogare, Kai Speer, Kanden Speer, Jazlynn Ozuna and Julie Ozuna. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 at Central Christian Church, 390 E. Sycamore Street in Globe, Ariz. Interment was at Pinal Cemetery, Central Heights, Ariz. Funeral arrangements for Irene Cora Speer were entrusted to Miles Funeral Services Globe.
