The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ Thursday, October 27, 2011 1957-2011: Jonathan (Jon) Watkins, 54, formerly of the Verde Valley, died peacefully in sleep at his home in Stevensville, Mont., on October 21, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Watkins, of Stevensville, MT., two children; Shannon Rogers of Stevensville, MT, Jay Watkins of Cottonwood, AZ., his dad and mom; Joseph Watkins Jr. and JoAnne Watkins of Phoenix, AZ; his three brothers and one sister; Joseph Watkins III of San Diego, CA, Tim Watkins of Rocky Ford, CO, Paul Watkins of Temecula, CA, and Becky MacLearn of Atlanta, GA, eight grandchildren, and many extended family and friends. He will be greatly missed. There will be a private family memorial. Information provided by survivors.
