KayEnnis Whiting Martineau, 77, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at her home in Hooper, Utah.
She was born March 23, 1934 in Hollywood, Calif. to Lynn and Gladys Waite Whiting. KayEnnis married Wendell Martineau Nov. 26, 1956, in Mesa. They enjoyed 55 wonderful years together.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in various positions, was a member of the Relief Society, taught primary, and served two full time missions in Guatemala and Uruguay. She spent 30 years of her life researching genealogy and doing temple work. She loved to travel with her family. She loved to cook and teach cooking classes, and authored two cookbooks.
She is survived by her husband, Wendell Martineau; children: Wayne (Ronna) Martineau, Tammy (Jim) Simmonds, Cheryl (John) Scott, Charles (Linda) Martineau, Wyatt (Blankie) Martineau, James (Jennifer) Martineau, John (Lori) Martineau, Jayson (Sara) Martineau, 38 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Connie.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at the Pioneer Trails Ward, 5000 South 5900 West in Hooper. A gathering for family and friends will be held Friday at the church from 12-12:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be at the Hooper City Cemetery.
