It is with a heavy heart that I let you know that my dear brother Larry passed away of natural causes on August 6, 2011 in Tucson, AZ. The picture of Larry is from 1993.
According to Larry's wishes, he will be cremated. Larry's ashes will be interred in the Prescott National Veteran's Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona, on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.
The VA only allows a 20 minute ceremony. If you are coming email me and I can send a more detailed directions that I am getting from the Prescott cemetery.
The web site has a map is - http://www.cem.va.gov/cems/nchp/prescott.asp. It is about 140 miles north of Phoenix. The cememtary is not in mapquest.
Due to the last minute nature and expense of travel I don't expect a lot of people, but look forward to seeing those that can come. My sisters Bessie and Lora will be there. There will be no other service. There will be a celebration of life after the brief cemetery service in Prescott, AZ at the Arizona Room of the Hassayampa Inn, in Prescott.
It is 1 mile from the cemetary. The web site for further information is http://www.hassayampainn.com/.
There will be a buffet lunch provided. Please RSVP to me so I can get an accurate count of how many meals to order. There are a few rooms left on 8/26 at the Inn, with two beds . Call the 800 number (1-800-322-1927)and ask for the 5% discount that is advertised on the front page of the Home Page. I have no information on the other hotels in Prescott.
There are no plans for donations or flowers, but of course you may give a donation of your choice in Larry's name. Larry would want you to remember him the way he was.
Larry was born in West Brownsville, Pennsylvania on August 15, 1948. He grew up in Barstow, California. He was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Barstow High School in 1966.
