BUTCHER, Robert Lee


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Saturday, October 22, 2011 - Robert Lee Butcher, 91, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011 in Lake Havasu City. He was born on April 21, 1920 in Johnsonville, Ill. to James and Mable Butcher. Robert served his country proudly in the US Army for four years and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. He married his beloved wife, Ann, in Yuma, Ariz. on April 05, 1945. Together they moved to Lake Havasu City 23 years ago, coming from Sun City, Calif. He was a member of the American Legion. Robert was a man who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His gentle soul, beautiful blue eyes and big smile made any room light up when he walked in. He is now having cocktails with his wife and his presence will be felt by all everyday when looking at our blue sky's and bright sunshine. He will be deeply missed by all. Robert is survived by his son, Tom (Vicki) Butcher of Lake Havasu City; daughter, Barbara Cross of Lake Havasu City; grandsons, Tom (Shanel) Butcher; step-grandson, Matt (Kelly) Cross; granddaughters, Ella and Sara and his granddog, Lucy. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann Butcher and his sister, Helen Alkins. Visitation will be held from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Lake Havasu Mortuary Chapel. Graveside service and Interment will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2011 at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. Full Military honors will be presented by the Marine Corps League.
