Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Monday, October 24, 2011 - Evelyn Mary Mallory beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend went to join the Lord Oct. 20, 2011 in Lake Havasu City with her family by her side. Evelyn was born in Torrington, Conn., on Aug. 7, 1925, to John and Dorine Dillingham. She was the older sister to two siblings, Dorine and John. Evelyn resided in several cities in Southern California before moving to Lake Havasu City in 1995. Evelyn retired from Pacific Telephone after working with the company for 35 years. Evelyn and her husband, Bill owned and operated several family businesses to include, the famous Lake Havasu City Boat House Family Restaurant. Evelyn is survived by the Mallory Tribe, aka her children, Bill Jr., Marcus (Diane), Lisa (Jerry), Michael (Monique), Kathy (Chris), Cristie (Bill), Todd (Stephanie). Evelyn was also loved and will be missed by her son-in-law, John Saunders and friend Sandy; and daughters-in-law, Laurel Mallory and Cindy Mallory. Evelyn was known by a multitude of loving nicknames — to name a few - Mareface, Mooch, Goose, MooMau, Gramma Dawg, Old Monster, Mutzie, The Beaver, Evie, G-Unit and GG. Evelyn had 17 grandchildren; William L. III, Shavonne, John (Becky), Penny, Sean, Billy, Jerry (Jessica), Ben (Catherine), Michael Jr., Melissa, Eve (Brian) Chris Jr., Jeremy (Alice), Billy, Mallory, Jessica and Garrett and ten Great-Grandchildren; Brianna, Amber, Lily, Riley, Jack, Bryce, Isabella, Faythe, Izzy and Parker but she was called Grandma by many! Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorine Dillingham; her husband, William L. Mallory; daughters, Judith Nadine Saunders and Brittany Lynette. Evelyn was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivor Association, the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Junior Achievement Program. The family wishes to thank Dr. O'Neill, Lisa, Beth, Pam and Jessica of New Hope Hospice. Special thanks to all the staff at the Havasu Cancer Center. Evelyn fought a courageous battle against the cancer that finally took her life. She was an inspiration to her family and everyone that was fortunate enough to have her touch their lives. Public viewing begins at 6 p.m. and Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
