Robert T. Grams, 71, of Lake Havasu City, passed away in Phoenix, Oct. 23, 2011 with his family by his side. Bob was born in Milwaukee, Wis., Oct. 5, 1940.
He married his beloved wife, Maureen Maziarz, and has been her faithful and loving husband for the past 48 years. They lived in Milwaukee for 46 years where they had a son, David, and a daughter, Denny, before moving to Lake Havasu City in 1986.
As a young boy, Robert went to work to help support his 10 brothers and sisters. After starting his own family he often worked multiple jobs to provide for them. He was an avid baseball fan and was even offered the chance to play professional baseball. As a talented cabinet and countertop craftsman Bob had a passion for his work. His hobby was making numerous woodworking gifts for his loved ones. Slow to find fault and with a soft heart, he was the kind of man anyone felt comfortable sitting next to.
Robert is survived by his wife, Maureen; and their children, David (Laurie) Grams and Denny (Ben) Thomason. He will also be remembered by his five grandchildren, Joshua and Jason Grams, Hunter, Sophie and Savannah Thomason; brother, Michael Grams; Aunt Sally Stockman; nephew, Frankie Shaffer; and a host of family and friends that will truly miss him. Bob has now joined his parents; four brothers and six sisters who have proceeded on the path to the Lord.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Western Arizona Humane Society www.westernarizonahumane.org in honor of Robert.
Visitation will take place Saturday, at 9 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Mortuary Chapel, 1562 E. Baseline Road, Mesa, AZ, with a memorial service to follow at 10 a.m. Colorful and casual attire is encouraged. Inurnment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
