VARGAS-BEDREGAL, Jaime


Patricia Sue Holt-Vargas and Jaime Vargas-Bedregal of Phoenix, Arizona went home to Christ on December 26, 2000. Pat and Jaime were blessed with three years of marriage and were beloved friends to many. Together, they brought joy to many and were priceless examples as parents and as Grammy and Papa to their grandchildren. Jaime Vargas was born in La Paz, Bolivia on February 26, 1940 and immigrated to the U.S. in 1959. Jaime was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam Veteran (1962-66). He was a dedicated worker for Christ in the foreign mission field and at home. Jaime was owner/operator of Scottsdale Landscaping and Jaime Vargas Enterprises. He leaves behind Irma Vargas (mother), Gonzalo Vargas (brother), Sylvia Vargas (sister), Rhonda Vargas (daughter), Jamie Vargas (son), Tony, Adranna, Tatym, and Matthew Vargas (son and family). Pat Holt was born on July 2, 1942 and moved to Arizona from Texas in 1966 after receiving her BA Ed. from Texas Tech. At ASU, she completed her MA in Education. Pat was a well-loved educator in the Madison School District for more than 25 years and recently retired. She was also a treasured mother to her two daughters, Noelle Culbertson and Holly Vick. She is missed by Roy and Ferne Holt (parents), Anita Edwards (sister), and Jimmy, Mandy, Katie, Hannah, and Riley Culbertson (son-in-law and grandchildren). The memorial service was held at the Chapel at Scottsdale Bible Church, 7901 E. Shea Blvd, Scottsdale, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pat and Jaime Vargas Memorial Fund, Wells Fargo Bank, 13015 N. Tatum Blvd, Phoenix, Arizona 85032. The fund will be distributed by the families to Christ-centered organizations important to Pat and Jaime. The Arizona Republic 12/31/2000
