BOWLES, Martha Dean

Martha Dean Bowles, 79, of Phoenix Arizona, graduated from her earthly labors on December 27, 2000 to be with her Heavenly Father. Martha is survived by her loving husband, John, with whom she shared most of her life. John and Martha met as neighbors and were schoolmates at Roosevelt Elementary and Phoenix Union High School, and would eventually form a bond in marriage that lasted 60 years. Together they raised one son, Larry Thomas, and two daughters, Lynda Ann Russell (who preceded her mother in death) and Kathy Lynn Boerner. Other survivors include her sister, Wanda Dowdy, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Martha worked most of her life as a receptionist and retired from Ameron Pipe Products, where she made many lasting friendships. Although Martha enjoyed many interests and accomplishments, her greatest source of pride came from her family. The family wishes to acknowledge all the heartful care they received from Bethesda Garden Care Center and from Hospice of the Valley. Their help and guidance was without reserve during our loved one's illness. Martha expired peacefully with her family at her side. Memorial services were held at the Cactus Christian Fellowship Church, wich is located at 2401 E. Cactus, Phoenix, AZ. Private graveside services.
