Helen Louise Burgess, 83, resident of Apache Junction and Harrah, Wash. died Oct. 24, 2011, in Yakima, Wash. She was born May 25, 1928 in Ravalli, Mont.
Helen was an ordained and licensed minister with Assembly of God, Springfield, Mo. for the past 60 years. Helen was a strong Christian woman who had such a great love for the Lord. She loved working with Native Americans due to her appreciation of her own Montana roots. She will be truly missed, but know she is in a better place, happy as ever sitting by our Lord and Savior.
She is survived by her sibling, Bill Burgess; nephews: Don Burgess, Mack Burgess, Dennis Burgess (Judy), niece Sharon Hank; a cousin Ruth Roderick; a granddaughter Loredana Soke; and a great grandson Jason Tua Tenorio, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper and Agnes Burgess; a brother Emmett Burgess; and co-pastor Phyllis Hammerbacker.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at The Broken Arrow Chapel in Bita Hochee.
