The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday, October 31, 2011 Rose Hillhouse died Oct. 29, 2011, in Prescott, Ariz. She was born Rose Nell Ashmore to Stephen Walter Ashmore and Ruth White Ashmore on Dec. 28, 1926, in Belleville, Ark. She attended schools in Arkansas and Oklahoma. She graduated from St. Paul's Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. She stayed active in nursing until 1996. Rose Ashmore married Marvin Hillhouse on Dec. 10, 1950, in Coalgate, Okla. They lived in Odessa, Texas, until moving to beautiful Prescott, Ariz., in 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin; her parents Walter and Ruth Ashmore; her sister June Smith; and brother James White. She is survived by her son Stephen Hillhouse of LaGrange, Texas; her daughter Linda Dixon of Prescott, Ariz.; her grandson Chad Dixon (Beth) of Prescott, Ariz. and their children Andrew Riley and Allison Rose; her granddaughter Lisa Steinbrink (Troy) of Prescott, Ariz., and their children Hannah and Hayden; and her grandson James Dixon of Tulum, Mexico.
