Joy Johnson, 73, of Surprise, Ariz., passed away Oct. 28 with her family by her side.
A memorial service will be held Saturday (Nov. 5) at 2 p.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church in Wickenburg.
She was born Sept. 23, 1938 in Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents Ted and Aline Christofferson. They moved to Wickenburg in 1954 from Post Falls, Idaho.
Joy graduated from Wickenburg High School in 1956. She was a life-long homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved cooking, quilting, and watching her sons and grandchildren participate in school activities.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lars Johnson, her sons Lars (Sonny), Curtis, and Kevin; her sister Bonnie Grames, and brother Gary Christofferson. She also had eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
