Sophie Victoria Kozuch passed away Oct. 26, 2011 in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 89. She was born in Chicago, Ill., to Paul and Kunagunda (Mrocka) Smolinski, March 10, 1922.
Sophie enjoyed cooking and baking, making one heck of a pound cake. Family meant the world to her and she had a ton of photos. She never missed a year sending out holiday cards.
Sophie is survived by her loving family, son, John Joseph (Jacki) Kozuch, of Bourbonnais, Ill.; daughter, Patricia Ann (James) Conley, of Lake Havasu City; grandchildren, Tina, Jim Jr., Christina, Nicole, Tiffany and Brandi; great-grandchildren, Ashley G., Nicholas, Johnathon, McKenzie, Ashley K., Delaney, Liam, Ava, Jason, Cheyenne, Shawnee and Dakota. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; parents, Paul and Kunagunda Smolinski; sisters, Helen and Stella and grandson John Joseph Kozuch Jr.
Visitation was Oct. 28, at Lietz-Fraze Chapel from 6-8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was Oct. 29, at noon at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Father Chauncey officiating. Reception followed at the Parish Hall.
