RAMSDELL, Lincoln Coulter, Jr.


The Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, January 3, 2007 Lincoln Coulter Ramsdell Jr. was born in New Rochelle, N.Y., on Jan. 27, 1925, to Beulah S. and Lincoln C. Ramsdell Sr. He passed peacefully to greet his Lord on Dec. 31, 2006. He attended Front Royal Military Academy in Va. and graduated from the American School Foundation in Mexico City, Mexico. In World War II he served in the infantry while stationed in Hawaii and Japan. He had a lifelong interest in aeronautics and retired from Lockheed Martin in 1990. He was a docent at the Smoki Museum and active in the First Congregational Church. He served as Chairman of Christian education at the time Thanksgiving Alive was held at the church. Lincoln was a member of the Sister City, Caborca, Mexico. He taught himself to play the guitar from his love of Spanish music. Thumb Butte and Granite Mountain were among his favorite places to hike. Lincoln was known for his sparkly blue eyes and contagious smile. He is survived and loved by his wife, Jane K. Ramsdell; sister Eleanor VanScherpe; daughters Susan Laker of Houston, Texas, Lucille Hamill of Vancouver, Wash., Diana. Rucker, of McAllen, Texas, son Charles Ramsdell, grandsons Bradley and Zachary Hamill and granddaughters Michelle and Kimberly Laker. We will miss him dearly. The Celebration of Lincoln's life will take place at First Congregational Church, 216 East Gurley at Alarcon, on Thursday, Jan. 4, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Granite Mountain Home Care and Hospice, 3107 Clearwater Drive, Prescott, AZ, 86305.
