PAYTON, Ethel L.

Ethel L. Payton was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1915 and lived in Phoenix, AZ for the last 50 years. She peacefully passed into heaven on Nov. 22, 2002. 

Not only was Ethel a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, but her spirituality, infectious smile, thoughtful nature and sense of humor brought happiness to everyone who knew her. 

Ethel's greatest joy in life was to be surrounded by her family, including her four children and their spouses, Mary and Bob Runke, Marge and Mike Smith, Joe and Cindy Payton, and Larry and Tanya Payton, as well as her six grandchildren and soon-to-be six great-grandchildren. 

A celebration of her life was held at Heritage Funeral Chapel (6830 W. Thunderbird Rd. in Peoria. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Clement's Catholic Church (15800 Del Webb Blvd. in Sun City). Memorial Contributions may be made to Marriott's Forum Scholarship Fund, 13840 N. Desert Harbor Dr., Peoria, AZ. 85381.
