Prescott Pioneer Called By Death
Temple E. Allred, resident of Prescott for 66 years, died yesterday afternoon at the Pioneers Home, where he had been a guest since November 1, 1938.
He was born in the Ozark mountain district of Arkansas, Sept. 2, 1857, the son of John Pleasant and Ursula (Guffey) Allred.
He came to Prescott with his parents, arriving here September 2, 1875. The family had a ranch in what is now known as Idylwild and later moved to one near Thumb Butte. Mr. Allred was employed as a teamster for various outfits in the early days.
His wife, the former Miss Rebecca Robbins, who died many years ago, was an aunt of Robert M. Robbins, sheriff of Yavapai county for several years, and residing in Clarkdale and Mrs. Walter Davis, of Miller Valley.
Four sons and two daughters survive: Frank, Eli, Ben and Aaron, all of Prescott; Mrs. F. H. (Louise) Lee, of San Bernardino and Mrs. T. E. (Tenney) Black, of Southgate, Calif.
The Lester Ruffner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Last rites will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 4:30 o’clock, with the Rev. D. Wayne Robertson officiating.
Interment will be in a family plot in Citizens cemetery.

Prescott Pioneer Laid To Rest
Temple E. Allred, Prescott resident for 66 years, was laid to final rest in a family plot in Citizens cemetery late yesterday, following last rites conducted by the Rev. D. Wayne Robertson.
The decedent, a native of the Arkansas Ozark mountain district, came to Prescott with his parents, John and Ursula Allred in 1875.
He leaves four sons and two daughters, Frank, Eli, Ben and Aaron, all of Prescott; Mrs. F. A. (Louise) Lee, San Bernardino, and Mrs. E. E. (Tenney) Black, Southgate, Calif.
Arrangements were in charge of the Lester Ruffner Funeral Home.
Note: Mr. Allred was the husband of Rebecca Elizabeth (Robbins) Allred.
