The Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, December 14, 1948 George Jones Dies At Pioneers Home George H. Jones, 88, died yesterday at the Pioneers’ home, where he had been a guest since Jan. 22, 1946, entering from Yavapai county. He was born Nov. 2, 1860 in New York City. He came to Flagstaff in 1878 and followed the cattle and mining business. He was familiarly known as ‘Deacon’ Jones. He is survived by his wife, Minnie, also a guest of the Home. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Lester Ruffner Funeral Home. Note: Mr. Jones is buried at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Prescott, Az.
