The Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday, December 3, 1934 Tom Kane, a Pioneer of Yavapai, is Dead Thomas H. Kane, 81, who came to Arizona in 1887 and lived in and near Prescott since 1906, died early this morning in his North Granite street residence His parents, Thomas and Bridget Kane, both were born in Ireland but his birthplace was Springfield, Ohio, on August 2, 1852. For many years he followed the occupation of teamster and miner in the McCabe district in this county. On October 1, 1933, he was granted a $15 monthly pension by the Yavapai county board of supervisors. Later, on July 1, of this year, it was raised to $20. So far as it is known, he has no relatives. The body has been removed to the Lester Ruffner Funeral Home. Burial arrangements are pending. ------------------ The Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, December 11, 1934 Thomas Kane, 80 years of age, who died December 3, was laid at rest in the Rolling Hills cemetery yesterday afternoon at the conclusion of 4 o’clock services in the chapel of the Lester Ruffner Funeral Home, the Rev. John L. Losh of the First Baptist church officiating. Mr. Kane followed the occupation of a miner for many years. He is survived by a niece, Mrs. Ida Seldon, of St. Louis. Note: No headstone has been found to mark the location of Mr. Kane's burial site.
