The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, July 27, 2006 Georgia Moss Wilson passed away July 25, 2006, in Prescott. She was born Feb. 6, 1903, in Coalgate, Oklahoma Territory, the sixth child of James A. and Nora Lee Moss. In 1907 she and her family traveled by covered wagon to homestead near Texico, N.M. She graduated from Clovis High School, Clovis, N.M., in 1923. She attended college at the University of Hawaii, Northern Colorado University, Highlands University, Eastern New Mexico University, and graduated from Western New Mexico University. After college and teaching several years in New Mexico, she moved to Arizona in 1931 and retired after 35 years teaching in Arizona. She taught at Clemenceau, Millford, Kingman, and Bullhead City and in 1955, with her husband, Harold (Tex) Wilson, moved to Prescott, where she taught home economics at Prescott High School until she retired in 1966. In her retirement, her love of printing, bridge and travel became even more important to her. She was a member of the Prescott Community Church, a Life Member of Elks' Ladies, and GFWC Monday Club, and until 2003 she enjoyed Ceramics Class at the Yavapai Blind Center. In 2000, 2001, and 2002, her ceramics were awarded ribbons at the Yavapai County Fair and the Arizona Stale Fair. In 2002 and 2003, she was the oldest entrant in any category at the Arizona State Fair. Georgia was the widow of Harold H. (Tex) Wilson who preceded her in death in 1983. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Yavapai Blind Center, 440 N.
