The Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday, July 30, 1945 Mrs. Marie Kuhne, Pioneer Resident, Passes Today Mrs. Marie Kuhne, aged 83, one of Prescott’s most highly respected pioneer residents, who had lived here for 54 years, died at the Community hospital at 5:45 o’clock this morning, following an illness of less than a week. Mrs. Kuhne was born June 26, 1862, in Halle a Salle, Germany. She came directly to Prescott from her native land in Oct, 1891, with her husband, Frank A. Kuhne, who had lived here previously and had returned to Germany for his wife. Mr. Kuhne died here February 6, 1903. The family home was established at 431 South Marina street and Mrs. Kuhne had lived there continuously since coming to Prescott. For many years her exquisite needlework won prizes at the state fair. She was also greatly interested in gardening. Mrs. Kuhne is survived by five children: M. F., Frank A., Robert H., Marie Kuhne, and Mrs. Helen K. Osborn, of Alhambra, Calif., who has been her several days. There are three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Lester Ruffner Funeral Home Wednesday night at 8 o’clock with the Rev. David C. Trimble officiating. The body will be sent to Phoenix for inurnment. Services will be conducted by the Rev. David C. Trimble. The body will be taken to Phoenix for inurnment. Mrs. Kuhne, aged 83, came to Prescott from her native Germany, October 1891.
