ROYCE, Edna Mae


Edna Mae Royce, born July 16, 1917 in Queens, New York, passed away on January 14, 2004 in Mesa. Edna Mae and her husband moved to Phoenix in 1947. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Robert Royce and is survived by her husband, Russ Royce; son Ronald Royce (Anya), and daughter, Carolyn Royce Trowbridge (Keith Bagwell); her Grandchildren Gina Fox (Mikel), Matthew Bugh; and her greatest joys, Great-Granddaughters Carissa, Maren, and Brenna. Edna Mae was known for her love of and work with children as a longtime Cub/Boy Scout leader, Brownie/Girl Scout leader, as a Choir Mother and Sunday School teacher at St. Paul's and St. Stephen's Episcopal Churches, and as a member of the Griffith Elementary and North Phoenix High School PTAs. After her own children were grown, she returned to college and completed a longtime dream of earning her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Services were held in New York.
