Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Wednesday, November 9, 2011 - Helen Marie Aro passed away Nov. 2, 2011 in Lake Havasu City. Helen was born June 17, 1916, in Butte, Mt., to Joseph and Marie (Owen) Fennah. Helen and her husband, Gunnar, moved to Arizona 14 years ago from Anaconda, Mt., and lived in Green Valley. Gunnar passed away in 2002 and Helen came to Lake Havasu City three years ago. Helen enjoyed many outdoor activities, among them were hiking and swimming. She was an avid reader and enjoyed going to church. Before Helen and Gunnar moved to Montana, they resided in Hawaii where Gunnar was active in real estate. Helen is survived by her son, Edward Aro, of Gig Harbor, Wash.; daughters, Candace Pape and her husband, Gene, of Lake Havasu City, Bonnie Schock and her husband, Ed ,of Green Valley, Ariz., and Carole Holmes, of Federal Way, Wash.; as well as nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
