John Rex Hansen died Nov. 8, 2011, in Eagar. Rex was born March 24, 1917, in Lakeside to John Clark and Ida West Hansen.
He married Marian Udall Oct, 11, 1941 and they spent their lives in Eagar. Rex served in World War II in the Army and Army Air Corps. He was an engineer on the B17 bombers and flew in the last mission over Berlin as the war in Europe ended. He retired from Arizona Game and Fish after serving as ‘Game Warden' in the White Mountains. Rex and Marian served together for their church as missionaries and temple workers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian. Rex is survived by his sisters: Julia Westover, Geniel Twitchell (Gordon); brothers: Robin Hansen (Lois), Max Hansen; a daughter Maxine Updike (Galen); grandchildren: Rinda Updike, Nathan Updike (Gina), Bethanne Hathcock (Nathan), Russell Updike, Susan Shepherd (Shawn), and eight great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at Burnham Mortuary, 535 N. Main in Eagar. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at the Eagar LDS Stake Center with a viewing at 10-10:45 a.m.
