The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, November 6, 2007 Jonathan "John" Mitchell, age 69, died Oct. 26, 2007, in Dewey, Ariz., after a courageous battle with cancer, his family by his side. He was born Aug. 1, 1938, in New York, N.Y, to Morris and Florence (Roth) Mitchell. John graduated from the University of Miami in Ohio. He moved to Arizona in 1968 where he worked as a CPA. After his retirement in 1992, John and Sandy moved to Dewey, Ariz. John enjoyed golf, reading and traveling with his wife, Sandy. John is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy; daughters, Antoinette (Ray) Engeike, Karen (Ross) Garvey, Barbara Mitchell, Deana (Johnny) Douglas; sister, Sari (Telly) Anthony; sister-in-law. Joann (Mal) Anderson; brother-in-law, Jim (Helen) Anderson; grandchildren, Kira, Jordan, Blake, Amanda, Jaden, Dakotah, Michelle; many nieces and nephews; his special friends, Pete and Sandee; and his beloved dog, Socks. He will always be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father and grandfather. The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to John's friends for their caring support during his illness. Memorial contributions in John's memory are suggested to the Yavapai Humane Society or a Hospice care of your choice. A celebration of John's life will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Nov. 10, 2007, at the Prescott Country Club Clubhouse in Dewey, Ariz. Arrangements entrusted to Sunrise Funeral Home.
