In loving memory of a true hero, someone who was dearly loved by everyone. That man was our Dad, Gerald Erich Crucius, who passed away Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, in Kingman; he was 79 years old. He was a dedicated husband for 55 years and a loving father, grandpa and great-grandpa. He was born July 29, 1932, to Erich and Doris Crucius in Milwaukee.
At the age of 17, he went into the army to serve his country. That was in 1949; he served four years. He was released in 1953, but the decided to stay and re-enlisted for another two years. After serving a total of six years, he received his honorable discharge papers.
He was a great carpenter; there wasn't anything he couldn't fix or build. He was a very smart man. He could charm the pants off anyone. He was very much loved by everyone who knew him. He was very special to his family and we miss him a lot. He will always be our Dad and a true hero. We will always keep him close to our hearts.
He leaves behind his two daughters, Cheryl (Marty) Goen and Laura (Michael) Bode; his son, Michael (Kathy) Crucius; his daughter-in-law, Margaret Crucius; his sister, Janet (Don); one niece; and lots of grandchildren and great-grandchildren all over the country.
Services for Gerald will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at his home at 1739 Hope Ave., Kingman, for those of you who would like to come. There will be food afterwards.
May our Dad rest in peace. He is with the Lord now, and with his wife of 55 years and his children who have passed on.
