Roger Fessenden passed away the morning of Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, after losing a long battle with cancer. He was born Aug. 29, 1967, in Hawthorne, Calif., to Lawrence (deceased) and Bernice Fessenden.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Kristine Fessenden; daughter, Tabitha Levy and her husband, Michael Levy; and four grandchildren, Makaela, Ashlee, Riley and Michael Levy. He is also survived by brother, Gary Fessenden and his wife, Sigrid; sisters and brothers-in-law, Les and Star Miller, Andrew and Linda Barham; and several nieces and nephew. He loved his two dogs, Luke and Kona - our animal kids.
Roger, a.k.a. Bubba by everyone who knew him, loved to go off-roading in his Jeep, fishing, shooting, camping and darts. He loved the outdoors and being with family and friends. He made everyone laugh; if you just met him you would never forget him. He was just that kind of guy. He was an active member of Relay for Life; he believed in helping to find a cure for this awful disease. Roger enjoyed working and traveling across the United States for his work with Velociti. He met a lot of friends along the way and had plenty of stories to tell.
The strength Roger showed in this horrible disease amazed everyone at how well he handled it while he was hurting inside. He was very positive and adamant about not letting this disease control his life to the very end. He fought a long fight for six years thanks to the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix/Scottsdale.
We love you, Bubba; you will be sorely missed. Until we meet again, you are forever in our hearts.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Hualapai Mountains in the Ponderosa Recreation Area. No. 1. Chaplain Lesley Miller will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up to help with funeral and medical expenses in the name of his daughter, Tabitha Levy, at Chase Bank (Account No. 3006415243), or donations can be made in Roger's memory to the American Cancer Society, 2724 E. Lakin Suite 9, Flagstaff, AZ 86004-3900, or call (800) 227-2345, or visit www.cancer.org.
