JACKSON, Jerry Ray (JR)

The Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on November 3, 2011 - Our cherished husband, father, and friend, Jerry Ray Jackson, known to so many as "JR," passed away to our Heavenly Father on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, in Kingman. He was born April 3, 1941, to Bonnie Marie and Robert Jackson in Joplin, Mo. As a child he traveled to many places and also lived on a reservation for some time. He was very proud of his Indian heritage. He had been retired since 1989 due to an injury. He worked in the auto mechanic field for many years, which was a passion for him, and he always kept busy tinkering on old cars restoring and refurbishing them. He met his beautiful wife Kathleen and they were married Oct. 4, 1974. He came to Kingman in 1996 from Orange County, Calif., and has always loved Arizona. He would say this is God's country. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Kathleen Jackson; and children, Sean and family of Arizona, Heather Jackson (Lou) Majesca and Evalynn of California, Holly Eveler (Jason) Wynter, Jayde and Aedyn of Kingman, Matthew Jackson of Kingman, Christopher Jackson of Kingman, Cody (Kris) and family of Nevada, Nate (Shelly) and family of California, and Jennifer Middleton of Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his son, Joshua Jackson, who passed away in 1996. He is also survived by brother, Bob Jackson and wife Mary of California. He is a great man who will be forever missed and loved. The best papa that his grandchildren and great-grandchildren could ask for. He has been the kind of husband, father, papa and friend that anyone could know and ask for. He has touched so many lives and taught us all so many valuable life lessons and for that we thank him and will honor him always. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located on Eastern and Southern Streets.
