DEMPSAY, Alan Dale (Chauncey)


Alan Dale "Chauncey" Dempsay taken home to be with God on Sunday, January 18, 2004. He was born in Joliet, Illinois where he resided until he moved to Phoenix in 1994. He graduated from Providence High School in 1983 and received his Bachelors in Business from Western Illinois University in 1988. Here in Arizona, he was an active member of the West Side Bible Church in Glendale. At West Side he was committed to his church family but had a special love for mentoring the youth. When Alan was not spending time with the youth he could be found on golf courses throughout the Phoenix area. Alan is survived by his Mother, Mary (Naperville, IL); Father, Asa (Marcia) (Gainesboro, TN); his brother Adam (Angie); two sisters - Misha Rice (Brian) and Methanie Binder (Bruce); half brother Joshua; stepbrother Chuck (Leigh-Ann) Frank; stepsister Adrianna Frank; nephew Carrick Rice; nieces Kiegan Rice, Addison and Ryan Dempsay; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceeded in death by his sister Maria and his grandparents Arthur and Mary Larson and Alpha and Elmer Dempsay. A memorial service was held at West Side Bible Church in Glendale. Family are asking that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Alan's name to either West Side Bible Church or to the Glen Haven Youth Ranch (748 Glen Haven Youth Ranch, Plainview, AR 72587).
